West Gate School Governor with Responsibility for Safeguarding: Brian |
Here at West Gate School we know that it can be frustrating trying to find support for you and your family and we hope that the following shortcuts to agency websites will be really helpful for you.
The links centre round mental health, wellbeing and safeguarding support but includes links to local authority support wherever possible.
If you are looking for support and cannot find it or would rather speak to us first, please ring one of our parent link workers:
- Sonia on 0116 2552187
They will then try and find you contact details for the support that you need. *Please note that school are unable to give financial advice but can direct you onto agency’s that can support you if you are struggling with the cost of living.
If you as a family have found a good resource that you would like to share, please ring or email Office@westgate.leicester.sch.uk and let us know and we will add their details to the links below.
Warmest Regards,
Kat, Deputy Headteacher.

Prevent Our staff are trained on how to spot the signs of students being radicalised to fulfil the governments Prevent duty and help keep them safe and make them less vulnerable. We know and understand how vulnerable out cohort are. We understand it is essential that staff can identify families who may be vulnerable to radicalisation and know what to do when they are identified. West Gate promotes British values in a SEN friendly way enabling pupils to understand (where appropriate) what might be considered an extremist view or behaviour and how to tell a trusted adult so they can support by exploring this appropriately as part of the wider world curriculum. Prevent duty is not intended to stop pupils debating controversial issues, but to encourage understanding. https://educateagainsthate.com/parents/
