Intensive Interaction

Intensive Interaction is a practical approach to support young people and adults who are at the early stages of communication. Intensive Interaction works on early communication skills such as eye contact, vocalisations, enjoying being with another person and exploring facial expressions. This is achieved by observing what the young person is doing or likes doing and then sensitively joining in using imitation, simplifying our behaviour and by being responsive and allow the young person to lead the interaction. This can lead to the young person being more responsive to others by  practicing early communication skills in a relaxed fun way.
