Application Form for Post 16 SEN students attending schools and colleges

We will shortly be contacting (by email) families of young people who have existing transport and who may need transport again next year but we would also appreciate your help in making the appropriate student and parent groups aware of this through any usual contact you have with them. This is especially important for families of nursery age or Post 16 SEN students as we can’t arrange transport without an application form.
You will find much more information, FAQs and details of the charges and policies on our website as per the links above. Please also note that we no longer send out printed application forms as a matter of course but they can be requested via our Customer Services Centre (0116 305 0002) for families without internet access.
A quick summary of policy changes and charges is outlined here:
NEW MAINSTREAM TRANSPORT POLICY
This is a further reminder to all educational establishments that the mainstream home to school transport policy for new intake students has changed for the 2015-16 academic year starting this September. Parents of secondary transfer pupils have been reminded again that transport arrangements will change in a link/leaflet provided with their admission offer on 2nd March and will get formal confirmation on whether they will be entitled to free transport (10+, 11+ and 14+ transfer groups) in early April.
First time admission pupils in primary schools will be contacted similarly during May and June.
The new policy is available on our website along with FAQs at:
May we also take this opportunity to remind those academies and colleges with Post 16 students that the new mainstream policy also affects students starting in Year 12 in September. The charge for those students who will be eligible under the new policy and those returning students into Year 13 who remain eligible under the old policy, will increase to £546 pa (with an exemption for low income families) from September 2015.
VOLUNTARY AIDED (FAITH) SCHOOLS
For Voluntary Aided schools - a reminder that the VA transport scheme has already ceased (as of September 2014) for new students and is being phased out for existing students. The charge for eligible students applying through the County Council Scheme will increase to £640 pa (with an exemption for low income families) from September 2015.
SEN TRANSPORT POLICY
There has been no change to the eligibility rules for SEN students, but the Post 16 charge will be increased in line with the mainstream charge to £546 pa (with an exemption for low income families) from September 2015.
